VISIT FLORIDA Launches Innovative Marketing Strategy with $10.5 Million Triumph Gulf Coast Grant – Travel And Tour World

VISIT FLORIDA has received a $10.5 million grant from Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc. for a three-year initiative to develop a groundbreaking regional marketing campaign. This campaign aims to highlight the outdoor and adventure opportunities in Northwest Florida, enhancing tourism and economic growth across the eight counties affected by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. This project marks the first time a Triumph-funded initiative benefits all these counties.

Collaborating with the Northwest Florida Tourism Council and backed by the Board of County Commissioners from each county, the campaign seeks to redefine the region’s reputation, broaden its tourist seasons, and reach new markets. The focus on promoting the region’s top-tier adventure experiences aims to establish Northwest Florida as an appealing year-round destination.

“We are honored to have been awarded this funding, which will allow VISIT FLORIDA to work hand in hand with our partners in Northwest Florida to showcase its unique appeal,” said Dana Young, VISIT FLORIDA President and CEO. “We are grateful to the Triumph Board for their support of this program and look forward to helping create a lasting impact in the region.”

“This funding award marks a significant milestone in our efforts to promote Northwest Florida as a world-class travel destination. This initiative will elevate our region and benefit every member of the community.” said Darien Schaefer, Northwest Florida Tourism Council Chair

Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc. is a nonprofit established to manage funds secured by the Florida Attorney General for economic losses from the 2010 oil spill. These funds are aimed at the recovery, diversification, and enhancement of the eight affected counties: Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, Bay, Gulf, Franklin, and Wakulla.
