Royal Caribbean unveils plans for new Cozumel Beach Club, expanding Caribbean presence – Travel And Tour World

Royal Caribbean International is unveiling a new beach club experience, with plans to enrich its destination offerings through the introduction of Royal Beach Club Cozumel in Mexico, set to open in 2026. The announcement was made by Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty, along with Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley, during an event on the island’s western coast. They were joined by Quintana Roo’s Secretary of Tourism, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, and Cozumel’s Mayor, Juanita Alonso, to disclose the upcoming addition to the Royal Beach Club Collection.

“We are delighted to build on our longstanding partnership with the local community and government to continue bringing our guests to Mexico,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean Group. “The expansion of our destination offerings aligns with the growing global demand for the ultimate vacation experiences and enables our guests to connect with the beauty of local cultures and people in the places they visit.”

“The anticipation for what’s next when it comes to Royal Caribbean destinations has only continued to build since we revealed Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas that opens in 2025. Now is the perfect time to announce the next iteration of this collection with Royal Beach Club Cozumel,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean International. “Cozumel is an incredible destination, and the beach club will perfectly complement all the island has to offer as an experience that combines familiar Royal Caribbean touches with the spirit of Mexico, alongside amenities and activities for every type of vacationer.”

Royal Beach Club Cozumel aims to offer visitors the perfect beach day in Mexico, promising unforgettable experiences amid beautiful beaches, stunning views, and pools designed to suit every preference. With Royal Caribbean’s renowned focus on excellence in every aspect of the guest experience, service, and design, visitors will have the chance to create lasting memories through a variety of activities. Options range from leisurely relaxation in swim-up bars and dedicated pools to adventurous snorkeling and kayaking, alongside private cabanas. Culinary enthusiasts can look forward to a diverse selection of dining options, including a restaurant, bar, and lounge offering breathtaking views and a taste of Mexico, plus a street market, tequila tastings, and cooking classes for an immersive experience.

“We are very proud that Royal Caribbean International has chosen Quintana Roo to build Royal Beach Club Cozumel as a new attraction for many of their guests visiting our magical island. My administration will always be committed to partnering and working very closely with the private sector to build modern and sustainable infrastructure and create local jobs for our people. These kinds of projects reaffirm our commitment to continue to be the top port of call in Latin America,” said Mara Lezama, governor of Quintana Roo.

This latest venture adds to Royal Caribbean’s expanding portfolio of destinations, including the highly acclaimed Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, which raised the standard for private island experiences following a $250 million overhaul in 2019. With continuous expansions like the recent opening of Hideaway Beach, an adults-only retreat, the Royal Beach Club Collection offers vacationers more ways to craft their ideal vacation day across The Bahamas and the Caribbean.

Further information about Royal Beach Club Cozumel will be released in the upcoming months. The collection also features Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in The Bahamas, a 17-acre beach haven on Nassau’s Paradise Island, scheduled to open in 2025.
