National Jet Express Launches Gladstone as 7th New Port in Queensland – Travel And Tour World

National Jet Express (NJE), part of the Rex Group, has announced its expansion in Queensland through the introduction of new weekly charter flights connecting Brisbane and Gladstone, and then extending to Rockhampton, starting today. This addition marks Gladstone Airport as NJE’s seventh charter location within Queensland, a significant development since NJE established its Queensland base in July 2023. The airport serves as a key gateway to one of the state’s major mining, resources, and industrial sectors.

The newly launched charter flights to Gladstone, in collaboration with Air Charter Service, feature NJE’s contemporary and efficient De Havilland Dash 8-400NG (Next Generation) aircraft. These planes are notably suited for Queensland’s mining, resources, and construction sectors, offering a modern alternative to the older aircraft, some 20-30 years in age, operated by NJE’s rivals.

In response to the sustained high demand for its dependable and economical services, NJE plans to expand its fleet with additional Dash 8-400NG and Embraer E190 aircraft within Queensland and throughout Australia, with new additions expected by the end of the current financial year.

Furthermore, the Rex Group, NJE’s parent company, is the largest regional provider of Regular Public Transport (RPT) in regional and rural Queensland, serving 24 destinations. It also operates an expanding domestic network using Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. NJE’s expansion in Queensland is set to enhance the Rex Group’s capacity to broaden its reach in both charter and RPT services.
