Alaska Airlines is thrilled to unveil the expansion of our international routes with the introduction of two new destinations in Mexico this winter. We are set to launch flights from Los Angeles to the stunning La Paz, marking our exclusive position as the only U.S. carrier connecting to this enchanting coastal destination. Additionally, we will be the sole U.S. airline to provide daily nonstop flights from Los Angeles to the dynamic city of Monterrey, starting in February.

As the colder months approach, our passengers often seek destinations that offer warmth and sunshine. Responding to this trend, our new direct flights to La Paz (LAP) and Monterrey (MTY) promise an ideal getaway filled with sunny weather, urban excitement, and exceptional hospitality. Get ahead of the winter rush—book your vacation early! Tickets go on sale starting July 3 in the afternoon at alaskaair.com.

“We recently celebrated 35 years of service to Mexico and are proud to connect travelers with the rich culture and natural beauty of the country. We look forward to continuing to serve as the carrier of choice from the West Coast, especially as we prepare to start service to these popular destinations in Mexico,” said Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning at Alaska Airlines.

We are delighted to maintain our status as the leading U.S. carrier offering the highest number of flights, seats, and direct routes to Mexico from the West Coast. This latest expansion underscores our ongoing commitment and strategic plans for growth in the region.

With our new direct services to La Paz (LAP) and Monterrey (MTY) from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), travelers can conveniently connect from various cities throughout our network. Operating from our LAX hub, we continue to provide the most comprehensive flight schedule to destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean—this winter featuring nearly 16 average daily flights to 15 cities throughout the area.

La Paz, Mexico
This year, we are set to be the exclusive carrier providing direct flights between the United States and La Paz, a premier destination known for world-class diving and sport fishing. We are thrilled to offer year-round flights to this spectacular location, with services running up to three times a week.

“We appreciate Alaska Airlines’ confidence in investing in the virtues of La Paz and providing it with the opportunity to expand its borders by connecting with the United States. Especially with its flight to Los Angeles, California, which we are sure will be a success,” said Maribel Collins, minister of tourism and economy of Baja California Sur.  “For the Government of Baja California Sur, tourism is one of the pillars that drives the state’s economy. Therefore, we are highly committed to promoting actions that benefit this important sector through our tourism trusts, which day by day seek alliances for the benefit of all.”

“Connecting La Paz with Los Angeles is an important step for internationalizing this airport which has grown passengers significantly over the past three years.  We thank Alaska Airlines for offering this flight to one of the most beautiful destinations in Mexico and look forward to welcoming travelers to La Paz and continuing to provide greater ease for foreign tourists to visit this city,” said Raúl Revuelta Musalem, CEO of the Pacific Airport Group.

Monterrey, Mexico
Introducing daily flights from Los Angeles to Monterrey, the expansive second-largest metro area in Mexico. Explore the dramatic Sierra Madre Oriental Mountains and dive into the city’s bustling culinary landscape, featuring numerous Michelin-starred dining options.
