Batik Air has introduced new unbundled baggage fares, which include a ‘zero check-in baggage’ option at a reduced cost. This updated fare is specifically for Domestic and ASEAN routes, applicable to bookings made starting May 1st for travel dates from June 1st, 2024.
With the new fare structure, passengers selecting the Super Saver Economy Class can now enjoy increased flexibility. They have the option to either buy baggage allowance or travel without any baggage, providing them with the choice to travel light. Baggage allowances can be pre-purchased at a discounted rate on Batik Air’s website during flight booking, or at the airport Check-in Counter for the standard price during check-in.
Commenting on the policy change, Chief Executive Officer of Batik Air, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy stated, “We recognise the diverse and changing needs of air travellers, especially in the Domestic and ASEAN markets. This revision aims to offer our customers the increased flexibility they seek for their short-haul travel, allowing them to travel light and benefit from lower airfares without being burdened with unnecessary costs.”
“At the same time, the pre-purchase baggage options offered at reasonable prices enable travellers to tailor their travel plans and manage their choices during their booking process on Batik Air website. By implementing these new fares, we aim to make air travel with us more affordable for the savvy air traveller,” he said.
Passengers choosing the Economy Class Value fare will enjoy a complimentary baggage allowance of 10kgs, whereas those opting for the Economy Class Flexi fare will receive a 20kgs baggage allowance. As the aviation landscape evolves swiftly, Batik Air maintains its dedication to improving passenger travel experiences. We engage with our customers and the market regularly to adapt to evolving preferences and requirements.
